Specialists made special mention of unique "Turboatom" turbine

PJSC "Turboatom", creating high-quality equipment, proves its reputation as reliable supplier. High quality is confirmed by Heads of power plants, operating organizations and specialists working at power plants.

All clients of PJSC "Turboatom" note professional attitude of plant's specialists to manufacture of equipment, starting from design stage.

Last year, reconstruction of the second unit was completed at Ekibastuz GRES-1. Due to this, power plant increased generation of electricity on 7% at once. Thus, company announced end of comprehensive program for modernization of power plant, which began in 2005. Reconstruction became special only because it has unique turbine. It was specially developed at Kharkiv plant for Ekibastuz power plant, taking into account all economic parameters.

According to Chief Engineer of Ekibastuz GRES-1 Olexandr Cherepenik, according to economic indicators, unit No. 2 far exceeds previous units. "With the same fuel costs," he says, "7% more electricity generated than on other units. This is achieved through more cost-effective use of equipment and control systems. The second unit has no analogues in CIS. It is equipped with advanced equipment and control system."

Equipment for unit No. 2 was manufactured by PJSC "Turboatom" taking into account all needs of the customer. At power plant, enterprise modernized K-500-240-2 turbine with capacity of 500 MW and replaced it with new generation turbine K-540-240-2 with capacity of 540 MW, which was installed on existing foundation. At the same time, plant also modernized flow part of high, medium and low pressure cylinders, introduced new combination of segment and sleeve bearings that will ensure reliable operation of shaft drive in all modes. Also, in turbine was used advanced system of moving supports and cylinders, electro-hydraulic control system, new design of steam distribution units and number of technical solutions.

Ekibastuz GRES-1 is the largest thermal power plant in Kazakhstan in city of Ekibastuz in Pavlodar region. Location of power plant determined its proximity to main coal-mining open pits of Kazakhstan.
