Delegation of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development visited "Turboatom"

JSC "Turboatom" was visited by delegation of EBRD, which included representatives of the EBRD: lead engineer David Edward McKeon; EIB representatives: senior engineers Olivier Tricca and Inigo Arencibia Gonzalez, Slawomir Zultak.

Guests visited hydro-laboratory, model, steam turbine, hydroturbine, blade and assembly and testing workshop, as well as casting and forgings workshop, welded structures and machining and welding production. Delegation was acquainted with peculiarities of production of power equipment, after which parties discussed prospects for possible cooperation.

After meeting, delegates noted that they were amazed by what they had seen and had never before been at such large enterprise. "First of all, I will note a lot of experience, knowledge, engineering culture, because it is very important for Ukraine, that can give a chance for further construction of power plants," – said David Edward McKeon.

"Your production is really impressive, especially its competitiveness on global scale. That is, in addition to large project, which our bank finances on Ukrainian power plants today, I see that you also are shipping products to Kazakhstan, Latin America and other countries. This is very big achievement, "said EIB's Transaction Management Operations Officer Slawomir Zultak.

In his turn, General Director of JSC "Turboatom" Victor Subotin, thanked representatives of delegation for the visit.

On funds of EBRD JSC "Turboatom" is implementing a number of projects:

• Kanev HPP. In November 2016 JSC "Turboatom" and PrJSC "Ukrhydroenergo" concluded contract for modernization of two power plant units. In accordance with the contract, JSC "Turboatom" develops design, project and technical documentation, and also manufactures and supplies 7 hydraulic turbines of PL 15-GK-600 in full set for rehabilitation of two power units of Kanev HPP. Tender for EBRD's money was held in two stages within three years. JSC "Turboatom" was able to defeat its competitors - German consortium ANDRITZ HYDRO and Chinese company Power China-Nari - in quality-to-price-ratio.
• Kyiv HPSPP. Contract for rehabilitation of three power plant units was concluded between JSC "Turboatom" and PrJSC "Ukrhydroenergo" on 30 December 2016. JSC "Turboatom" acted as general contractor of "turnkey" project. For power plant "Turboatom" will develop documentation, carry out model tests and supply three radial-axial hydroturbines of type RO75-B-300, carry out dismantling, installation, precommissioning and commissioning.
• DniproHPP-2. Contract for modernization of three turbines of DniproHPP-2 of propeller type PR-B-680 with replacement for adjustable blades turbines PL40-V-700 was concluded in 2011. In April 2015, with participation of specialists of JSC "Turboatom", commissioning of hydroturbine (station No. 18) took place.
• Srednodniprovska HPP. Contract for rehabilitation of two hydraulic units (adjustable-blades turbines and generators) was concluded on 22 November 2017 between JSC "Turboatom", and PrJSC "Ukrhydroenergo". Contract is planned to be completed by September 2021. This will allow increase capacity of "Ukrhydroenergo" hydroelectric power plants, increase production of electric power, extend life of company's HPP equipment, and strengthen reliability of country's power network as a whole.
