Agreement on cooperatin with NAS of Ukraine was signed

Between JSC "Turboatom" and National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine agreement on cooperation in field of power turbine construction was signed.

During regular meeting of NAS Presidium, under chairmanship of President of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Academician Boris Paton, General Agreement on scientific and technical cooperation between joint stock company "Turboatom" and National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in field of power turbine construction was signed. The purpose of this agreement is introduction of promising scientific and technical developments and technologies of power turbine construction as the basis for creating in Ukraine production of competitive power turbines.

Evaluating cooperation of "Turboatom" and Academy, Academician of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine B.Ye.Paton noted that power turbine construction belongs to one of the most high-tech and science intensive industries and it can be asserted that Ukraine has basically retained its scientific and technical potential of power turbine construction. Basis of its infrastructure is JSC "Turboatom", as well as relevant scientific institutions of NAS of Ukraine. It should be noted that "Turboatom" already has a positive long-term experience of cooperation with scientific organizations subordinate to NAS of Ukraine, in particular, Electric Welding Institute named after Ye.O. Paton and Institute of Mechanical Engineering Problems named after A.M. Podgorny. From the part of JSC "Turboatom", the agreement was signed by General Director Victor Subotin, on the part of the NAS of Ukraine - its president, Academician Boris Paton. This document defines, in particular, main areas of cooperation of the parties, namely:

• new materials and technologies for production of power equipment;
• thermogashydrodynamics and heat-and-mass transfer;
• optimization of heat circuits and thermodynamic cycles;
• dynamics and strength of structures;
• increase of efficiency, reliability and resource of turbine units of TPPs, NPPs, HPPs and HPSPPs;
• diagnostics and operation control systems for turbine units.

Victor Subotin presented Academician Boris Paton with memorable photo. Photo taken in 1983 during a visit to "Turboatom" B. Paton and President of AS of USSR, Academician A. Aleksandrov. Also, General Director of "Turboatom" awarded President of NAS of Ukraine the title of "Honorary Turbine constructor".
