Within the framework of the X International Economic Forum “Innovation. Investments Kharkiv Initiatives” enterprise signed number of contracts and agreements.
Kharkiv hosted the X International Economic Forum “Innovations. Investments Kharkiv Initiatives”. It gathered international representation in person of 18 Ambassadors of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and 35 foreign delegations, almost 600 participants from Ukraine and 35 countries of the world, also it was attended by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, First Vice-Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv and governor of Kharkiv region Yulia Svitlychna .
Representatives of all delegations, including drivers of world economy - the United States, China and Japan - noted increase in investment attractiveness of Ukraine over the past year.
In panel discussion “Integration model of economic development: cross-sectoral effects of investment and cooperation”, great attention was paid to power machinery construction. Among the largest enterprises in Ukraine in this area was noted and “Turboatom”.
Representative of German company Siemens Tobias A. Fischer noted that “Turboatom” has great potential and is world leader in industry. “It was very important for us to sign agreement with such powerful manufacturer of turbine equipment, - he said. - We were impressed by production capabilities of the Kharkiv enterprise. Personally, for me, leadership of “Turboatom” in field of welding is pleasant.” Also, representative of company Siemens at the Forum reported on negotiations on continuation of cooperation with JSC “Turboatom”.
His comment on prospects of cooperation with JSC “Turboatom”, provided He Jianhua, Sales Manager of Chinese company Dongfang Electric Machinery Co. “I think that after today's signing, we can quickly start working together and get positive result from cooperation of our companies, - he said after signing cooperation agreement. - I hope that in future we will begin to work and jointly supply equipment primarily to third countries. We are counting on cooperation, as we know how strong “Turboatom” is in power machinery construction.” At the end He Jianhua noted that cooperation with Kharkiv plant could be beneficial for both companies and would provide high competition to other manufacturers in third countries.
In the course of panel discussion, General Director of JSC “Turboatom” Victor Subotin signed contracts:
- Agreement with PJSC “Donbasenergo” for manufacture and supply of medium pressure cylinder K-800-247.0-2 turbine with capacity of 800 MW for turbine of Unit No 7 Slavyanskaya TPP for amount of 250 million hryivn.;
Also was signed agreement on cooperation with Chinese company “Dongfang Electric Machinery Co.” (PRC) on manufacture of power equipment for TPPs, HPPs and NPPs with prospect of cooperation worth about 60 million. US dollars and a Memorandum of Understanding with Siemens AG (Germany) on participating in steam turbine modernization programs for TPPs and NPPs with prospect of cooperation worth about 70 million. US dollars. All signed contracts and agreements are aimed, respectively, for attracting investment, not only for Kharkiv region, but for state as a whole.
In his speeches during panel discussion and final plenary session, Director General JSC “Turboatom” Victor Subotin noted that company has all possibilities for manufacturing high-quality and competitive products. “The plant is equipped with up-to-date equipment, technical and design solutions meet requirements of customer, financial condition is stable, - he said. - As President Petro Poroshenko said today, “Kharkiv is the heart of Ukraine's machine-building industry”. That is why we are responsible for its health.” Victor Subotin also noted success of “Turboatom” after signing agreements with partners, which at the same time are our competitors. “We could agree, - said General Director of “Turboatom”, - since our plant creates high-performance, reliable and high-quality products and has powerful technological potential, thanks to global modernization of our own equipment, which we have been implementing at enterprise for the last 10 years. This allows us to supply the best products”.
Summarizing forum, First Deputy Head of Kharkiv Regional Council Victor Kovalenko, among other things, emphasized importance of development of mechanical engineering: “We approached organization of the forum, based on strategic objectives of economic development. Main task of authorities - is to create a platform for constructive negotiations in order to attract foreign investment. This forum is one of the most powerful events in eastern Ukraine. It is extremely important. Today we are witnessing of signing of contracts and memoranda for 6 billion hryivn. This is a significant figure”.
