"Turboatom" was awarded with State Prize of Ukraine

On 20 November 2018, official ceremony of awards presentation to laureates of State Prize of Ukraine in field of science and technology in 2017 took place in premises of conference hall of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Work of JSC "Turboatom" on creation of reversible hydroelectric units for Dniester HPSPP received State Prize of Ukraine in field of science and technology in 2017. Dniester HPSPP has become one of the largest infrastructure objects implemented in Ukraine in recent years. Thanks to joint efforts of PJSC "Ukrhydroenergo", JSC "Turboatom", "Electrovazhmash", other enterprises and design and scientific institutes, which are combined with many years of fruitful cooperation, Ukraine's energy sector has received modern equipment that allows country to get closer to absolute energy independence. "Turboatom" is pioneer in design and production of reversible hydraulic machines that is why Kharkiv enterprise has started implementation of large-scale task. According to its own project, reversible hydraulic units were created based on the latest unique scientific solutions and technologies. Commissioning of the first hydroelectric unit took place in 2009, the second - in 2013, the third - in 2016. Thus, the first stage of construction of Dniester HPSPP was completed. Each hydraulic machine has weight of over 3000 tons. Turbine rotates at speed of 150 rpm. And its diameter is 7.5 meters. When all seven reversible machines will be installed at HPSPP, weight of equipment will exceed 20 thousand tons, and total capacity will reach 2268 MW in generator mode and 2947 MW in pump. Thus, Dniester HPSPP will become the most powerful hydroelectric power plant in Europe. All equipment was manufactured by Ukrainian enterprises. Kharkiv hydraulic units are the pride of country's hydropower sector, which, according to leading specialists of the industry, correspond to world level, and even exceeds it in some indicators.

In November 2018 "Turboatom" shipped the fourth hydroelectric unit for Dniester HPSPP and supply hydraulic turbines and other equipment for the 5th, 6th and 7th hydraulic units as it has all possibilities.

It is safe to say that work of PJSC "Ukrhydroenergo" on construction of Dniester HPSPP with its unique equipment, manufactured by JSC "Turboatom", "Electrovazhmash" and other Ukrainian enterprises, is a grand project, thanks to which Ukraine is confidently moving forward.

It should be noted that work for awarding of State Prize of Ukraine in field of science and technology was filed on initiative of "Turboatom." Authors of the work are:
