JSC "Turboatom" was visited by representative of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

21 November 2018, representative of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Valery Kulishenko and Director of “Reconstruction Stage II” Project Implementation Department of PJSC "Ukrhydroenergo" Ivan Zhdanov visited JSC "Turboatom".

Purpose of visit was to check status of execution of contracts for manufacture of power equipment for PJSC "Ukrhydroenergo" for EBRD loan funds.

Guests visited hydro-turbine laboratory, model (68), steam turbine (53), hydraulic turbine (83), and assembly and testing (73) workshops, as well as casting and forging workshops (50), welding constructions (60) and machining and welding production (72), where they became acquainted with peculiarities of manufacture of power equipment. Than party held meeting that summed up visit to the company.

Delegates noted that they were satisfied thing they saw and believed that "Turboatom" would be able to meet all obligations imposed on the plant.

Valery Kulishenko, in his commentary, said that plant made especially big impression on him. "I did not see any big risks for the project," he said, "so I believe we can refuse form frequent visits to "Turboatom"". Also, EBRD representative added that enterprise made impression by its production and competitiveness on global scale.

Ivan Zhdanov, in his turn, noted good production potential of "Turboatom". "First of all, I would like to say about great experience, knowledge, engineering culture, because it is very important for Ukraine, that can give a chance to further build of power plants," - he said.

In his turn, General Director of JSC "Turboatom" Victor Subotin, thanked representatives of delegation for visit.

At the expense of EBRD, "Turboatom" implements number of projects:

- Kaniv HPP. In November 2016, JSC "Turboatom" and PJSC "Ukrhydroenergo" signed contract for modernization of two units of power plant. In accordance with the contract, JSC "Turboatom" develops design, project and technical documentation, as well as manufacture and supply 7 hydraulic turbines PL 15-GK-600 in complete set for rehabilitation of two power units of Kaniv HPP. Tender for EBRD funds was held in two stages for three years. JSC "Turboatom" was able to beat its competitors - German consortium ANDRITZ HYDRO and Chinese company Power China-Nari - in terms of price and quality.

- Kyiv HPSPP. Contract for rehabilitation of three units of power plant was concluded between JSC "Turboatom" and PJSC "Ukrhydroenergo" on 30 December 2016. JSC "Turboatom" acted as general contractor of "turnkey project". For power plant "Turboatom" will develop documentation, conduct model tests and supply to the power plant three radial axial hydro turbines type RO75-V-300, will carry out dismantling, installation, start-up and commissioning works and putting into operation.

- Dniprovska HPP. Contract for modernization of three turbines of DniproHPP-2 of propeller type PR-V-680 with replacement for adjustable blades hydraulic turbine PL40-V-700 was concluded in 2011. In April 2015 with participation of specialists of JSC "Turboatom" commissioning of hydro turbine (station No 18) took place.

- Seredniodniprovska HPP. Contract for rehabilitation of two hydraulic units (adjustable blades turbines and generators) was signed on 22 November 2017 between JSC "Turboatom" and PJSC "Ukrhydroenergo". Implementation of the contract is scheduled for September 2021. This allow to increase capacity of hydroelectric power plants of PJSC "Ukrhydroenergo", increase scope of electric energy generation, extend life-time of equipment of the company's hydroelectric power plants, and improve reliability of power grid of the country as a whole.
