JSC “Turboatom” manufactured equipment for DniproHPP

At JSC “Turboatom”, work on manufacture of equipment for DniproHPP (Ukraine) is ongoing.

Specialists of the enterprise manufactured and shipped embedded parts of hydraulic turbine, in particular, runner chamber.

In April 2015, with participation of specialists of JSC “Turboatom”, commissioning of hydraulic turbine (station No 18) at DniproHPP-2 was held. According to contract concluded in 2011, at DniproHPP-II, JSC “Turboatom” implemented modernization of three turbines Nos. 11, 17, 18 of propeller type PR -V-680 with replacement for adjustable-blade hydraulic turbine PL 40-V-700. Project was funded and controlled by International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

After modernization, unit capacity of turbines increased from 115 MW to 122 MW, average weighted Efficiency reached 93.5%, and diameter of runners increased from 6.8 to 7 m. Modernized hydraulic turbine No. 11 was commissioned in 2013, turbine No. 18 was commissioned in January, and turbine No 17 - in October 2015.

22 November 2017, JSC “Turboatom” and PJSC “Ukrhydroenergo” signed contract for rehabilitation of two hydraulic units (adjustable-blade turbines and generators) for DniproHPP-2. Implementation of the contract is scheduled for September 2021. This allow to increase capacity of Ukrhydroenergo hydroelectric power plants, increase volume of electric energy generation, extend operation life of equipment of HPP of the company, and strengthen reliability of power grid of the country as a whole.
