General Director of JSC "Turboatom" Victor Subotin and Director of Institute of Electric Welding named after E.O. Paton of NAS of Ukraine Borys Paton signed 15 April 2019 Perpetual Agreement on scientific and technical cooperation.
Purpose of this Agreement is to carry out works aimed at increasing efficiency, reliability and resource of turbines related to material science, technology and hardware of welding production, creation and introduction of new technologies in power engineering and turbine construction for thermal, nuclear and hydro-energy.
The agreement is based on provisions of relevant General Agreement between "Turboatom" and NAS of Ukraine that was signed in June last year.
As Boris Paton noted, it is good that in Ukraine there are such enterprises as "Turboatom". "This plant is the best among plants, therefore, Academy of Sciences is interested in developing cooperation with such leading enterprise in field of mechanical engineering," emphasized Director of the Institute.
One of the most significant achievements of scientific and technical cooperation of IEW named after E.O. Paton and "Turboatom" are works on creation of large-capacity turbine rotors for thermal and nuclear power plants, development of unique rotor welding technology that has received world recognition and has every reason to be considered a national achievement.
Victor Subotin, at the signing of agreement, spoke about "Turboatom`s" projects on creation of new equipment for energy sector and work on technical re-equipment of the enterprise. He noted important role of institutes of Academy of Sciences with which enterprise cooperates. Among them: Institute of Electric Welding named after E.O.Paton, Institute of Mechanical Engineering Problems named after A.M. Pidgorny, Kharkiv Physical-Technical Institute and others.
