“Turboatom” handed over to the customer the runner for Kaniv HPP

16.05.2019

In May, JSC “Turboatom” handed over to the customer the third runner out of seven planned for the ПЛ-15-ГК-600 type turbine for Kaniv HPP (station No. 15, Ukraine).

In the presence of the customer representatives, “Turboatom” specialists performed balancing of the Kaplan type runner with a diameter of 6 m. Previously, functional tests were passed to the customer, and the runner was tested for blade turnout identity and pressure level. According to the test results, a certificate was signed stating that all parameters comply with the standards. Now the equipment is waiting for dismantling, after which it will be packaged and sent to the station.

In general, according to the contract with PrJSC “Ukrhydroenergo”, signed in November 2016, the company will manufacture and supply 7 full optional hydraulic turbines ПЛ 15-ГК-600 for the reconstruction of two power units of Kaniv HPP.

fter reconstruction, the capacity of the hydraulic unit will increase from 19.2 MW to 23 MW, as well as increase the reliability and durability of the turbine.

This contract was the result of the first joint work between “Turboatom”, which was the general contractor, and its partners, SE “Plant Electrotyazhmash” (supply of seven generators under a contract) and Consortium “NPO Ukrhydroenergostroy” (supply of eight auxiliary systems of hydraulic units and supervising installation of equipment under contract). The contract is designed for several years; the deadline for the delivery of all equipment is the second quarter of 2021.

It is worth reminding that in 2011, at the request of “Ukrhydroenergo”, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) decided to provide a loan totaling 400 million EURO for the project of reconstruction of hydraulic power plants in Ukraine, including 7 units of the Kaniv HPP, 3 units of the Kyiv PSPP, 2 units of the Kremenchug HPP, 2 units of the Seredniodniprovska HPP and 2 units of Dnipro-2 HPP. According to the terms of crediting, international competitive bidding was held, in which “Turboatom” and “Electrotyazhmash” gained a victory over such manufacturers as Andritz Hydro (Germany), VoithHydroGmbH (Austria), POWERCHINA (China).
