The winners of the plant competition “Young Man of the Year” were determined at “Turboatom”

On May 24, 2019 winners and laureates of the competition “Young Man of the Year” of “Turboatom” received awards at JSC "Turboatom".

The awards were presented by Deputy General Director Dmytro Nesterenko, Deputy Chairman of the trade union organization, Olga Nedashkovska, and Chairman of the Youth Council Olexandra Moroz. In his speech, Dmytro Nesterenko congratulated all the winners on the victory and thanked the mentors for their position in educating the younger generation, which has a positive effect on the development of the plant and the engineering industry in the country as a whole.

The competition was held in the following nominations:

“Scientific activities”;

“Activities in the field of production”;

“Social activities, culture and sport”.

Evaluation of applications submitted to the competition was carried out by the expert council of the enterprise. Riza Sherfedinov, a head of section of the special design bureau “Turboatom” became the winner in the nomination “Scientific activities”. Over 8 years of work at the enterprise, he underwent a career from a design engineer to the head of sector of the department of thermal calculations and strength calculations. With his direct participation, in the framework of the import substitution program the blades of the last stages of titanium alloy to replace blades manufactured by Power Machines (Russia) at the South Ukrainian, Khmelnitsky and Rivne NPPs were developed and mastered in production.

Vitaliy Shary, the first category manufacturing engineer of welding department, was recognized as the winner in this nomination. Among other things, he is engaged in the development and implementation of welding technology for cast iron and non-ferrous metals. He is one of the authors of scientific work along with representatives of the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute", the Institute of Electric Welding named after E.Paton and Kiev Polytechnic Institute named after I.Sikorsky, which is nominated for the award of the President of Ukraine for young scientists in 2019.

Victor Princevsky, a turner of the shop No. 54 became the winner in the nomination “Activities in the field of production”. He is directly involved in the production of complex mounting and adjustment parts that require high precision manufacturing.

Olexander Prokopenko, a turner-borer of workshop No. 83 and Denys Romaniuk, a construction metal worker of workshop No. 73 were recognized winners in the nomination “Activities in the field of production”. Olexander performs complex tasks for machining turbine components and parts that require high precision manufacturing, directly takes part in turning and boring works on pistons, runner casings, cylinders and other parts of hydraulic turbines manufactured by the company. As for Denys, the installation and testing of manufactured turbines for many power plants in Ukraine and abroad were carried out with his direct participation. He was directly involved in the installation of process equipment and related structures at the El Cajón hydropower plants in Mexico.

Oleg Karpenko, a pattern maker of wooden models of workshop No. 68, became the winner in the nomination “Social activity, culture and sports”. He takes an active part in the sports life of the enterprise, and he is also an athletes’ team member of “Turboatom”, which competes in the city tournament among industrial enterprises and companies “Battle of Corporations”. Oleg was repeatedly awarded letters and commendations of the company and the trade union committee.

Winners and laureates of the plant competition will take part in the Kharkiv city competition “Young Man of the Year” in 2019.
