At the end of May, a practical training session on how to prepare employees for actions in case of an emergency (fire) took place at the “Blue Bay” sports and recreation center of JSC “Turboatom”.

According to the chairman of the Emergency of the enterprise, Mykola Degtyar, practical exercises are an integral part of the personnel training complex. “Every employee must react correctly to possible emergencies, whether it is explosions or fires; be able to bring the necessary information to responsible persons and services; organize the evacuation of holidaymakers, as well as understand existing fire extinguishing means and be able to use them when a fire occurs,” he noted.

At the beginning of the event, Sergiy Chernukha, the head of the Security and Labor Safety Service, told the participants about the goals and objectives of the training, informed about recent fires, the reasons for their occurrence and the procedure for liquidation. After that, the Head of the Civil Protection, Fire and Technological Safety Bureau (CPFTSB) Viktor Podkopai together with the employees of the Bureau told the participants of the fire training about the priority actions in case of an emergency: how to pass the relevant information and organize the evacuation of the guests. Also the types of primary fire extinguishing equipment, their technical characteristics and application procedure have been considered.

The fire safety engineer of the CPFTSB bureau, Valentyna Samoilova, added that the main purpose of such exercises is to familiarize those present with the elementary processes of extinguishing a fire and teach them to apply their knowledge in practice.

Upon completion of the theoretical part, the actions of the personnel on call of the fire and rescue units, warning of people, evacuation of the residential building and extinguishing the conditional fire were practically worked out. Almost every employee of the base was able to try his hand at extinguishing the fire with a fire extinguisher.
