Kharkiv city head Gennady Kernes and people's deputy of Ukraine Yevgeny Murayev visited “Turboatom”, where they inspected the workshops of the enterprise and met with the staff.
The guests were met by the General Director of the plant, Viktor Subotin. They visited workshops Nos. 53, 83 and 55, where they saw unique modernized equipment – CNC-controlled special machining centers Waldrich Coburg (Germany), Skoda (Czech Republic), Inocenti (Italy). A total of 5 such centers were installed at the plant with the ability to process difficult-shaped parts using 5-coordinate CNC heads. In the blade workshop, Viktor Subotin presented the guests with modernized domestic software-controlled equipment. This upgrade was performed on 15 pieces of equipment.
Also, the authorities were shown a unique portable coordinate measuring machine FARO Prime with Delcam software. This equipment allowed the workshop to significantly speed up and simplify the marking of hydro turbine blades for their subsequent processing, and to reduce the cost of large-sized metal-intensive equipment.
In general, the modernization of equipment allowed “Turboatom” to reduce the preparation and production cycles of turbine equipment by 1.5-2 times.
As Gennady Kernes noted, “Turboatom” is one of the main taxpayers of the Kharkiv region and the city of Kharkiv. “I have visited “Turboatom” more than once and the modernization is carrying out here over the years. The company's management thinks about the future, about its competitiveness due to the loss of sales markets, since Russia was the main export consumer. Today the plant wins very important tenders from European competitors and works with them on a par. For us it is very honorable that this enterprise is geographically located in Kharkiv, and that the plant’s staff is very friendly,” the mayor emphasized.
According to him, the indicators that the plant, led by Viktor Subotin demonstrates are an example of thrift in preserving such production and creating jobs.
In the course of communication with the staff of the plant, Gennady Kernes spoke about what the city authority is doing today and what is planned to be done in the near future. In particular, the city acquired 54 new trolley buses that will run on routes in the Saltovka area. The construction of a new metro station Odeska is also actively underway; Shevchenko's garden, a zoo is being reconstructed. A waste recycling plant is being built in Dergachevsky district, so the city will not be afraid of any garbage collapses. In turn, the plant employees handed over to the mayor a number of requests and wishes.
