The management of Kozloduy NPP thanked “Turboatom” for high-quality and timely work

Executive Director of Kozloduy NPP (Bulgaria), Nasko Mikhov sent a letter to General Director of JSC “Turboatom” Viktor Subotin expressing gratitude for the work on upgrading the flow path of the high-pressure cylinder of unit No. 5 of the NPP performed by the Kharkiv plant.

“... We express our gratitude to the team of JSC “Turboatom” for the timely and high-quality production of components and reconstruction of the HPC rotor, for the development of all the necessary documents and programs, for their assistance in carrying out tests at Kozloduy NPP site,” the letter said.

At the end of June 2019, warranty tests of the turbine K-1000-60 / 1500-2 upgraded by “Turboatom” were held at power unit No. 5 of Kozloduy NPP.

The turbine equipment of the updated power unit passed the warranty tests, which confirmed the contractual obligations and calculated rates, and even exceeded their value.

The task of the test was to check for the achievement of the guaranteed performance of the turbine as a result of the reconstruction, namely, to achieve the appropriate level of electrical power and efficiency of the HPC.

The contract for the modernization of the equipment of the Kozloduy nuclear power plant was signed in January of this year. The modernization project involved work on the reconstruction of the flow path of the high-pressure cylinder of the turbine K-1000-60 / 1500-2 with a capacity of 1000 MW. The use of innovative designs and technologies has allowed increasing the electrical capacity of unit No. 5 of Kozloduy NPP.

Kozloduy NPP is located on the bank of the Danube River, 200 km north of the country's capital Sofia and 5 km from the town of Kozloduy, after which the plant got its name. The plant has two operating WWER-1000/320 power units with a total capacity of 2000 MW.
