Mayor of Kharkiv, Gennady Kernes, stated this on 10 October during a personal reception of the citizens-turbine constructors.
The City Mayor supported the idea to change name of metro station “Moscovskiy Avenue” to “Turboatom” after the appeal of labor collective of JSC “Turboatom”. Gennady Kernes stated that he would bring the issue of renaming to the next session of Kharkiv City Council.
In his turn, General Director of JSC “Turboatom” Viktor Subotin noted that at personal reception of City Mayor there was a significant event. “Gennady Adolfovich immediately responded to proposal of enterprise's labor collective to rename metro station “Moscovskiy Avenue” to “Turboatom” and gave assignment to relevant services. I want to say that it is a great joy and honor for the plant staff. We worked for a long time to be marked in history of the city and on its map.”
Reception took place in decade meeting hall of “Turboatom”. In total, 55 persons addressed the Mayor with various problems. Most of the issues that came to the Mayor concerned housing and utilities infrastructure. In particular, employees of enterprise asked to asphalt roads and sidewalks, repair entrances and roofs, extend some routes of public transport, replace sewer pipes, construct playgrounds, provide financial assistance for treatment, etc.
For all applications, Kharkiv City Mayor gave appropriate instructions to directors of departments and heads of public utilities.
It is worth mentioning that this is the fourth reception that Gennady Kernes holds at the enterprise, and employees of “Turboatom” thanked the Mayor for his assistance in solving problems, voiced during last visit.
The event was attended by directors of profile departments and administrations, heads of utility companies and private organizations, representatives of law enforcement agencies, heads of district administrations.
