The presentation “100 Days of the Ministry of Economy: Achievements and Plans”, dedicated to the work of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, took place on December 21 in the steam turbine workshop 53 of JSC “Turboatom”.
The presentation was attended by representatives of Kharkiv Regional State Administration, headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the KhRSA Mark Becker, Kharkiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, as well as representatives of industrial enterprises of the Kharkiv region in various industries: power engineering, aircraft manufacturing, agricultural machinery, space industry, SC “Ukroboronoprom” and some other industrial enterprises. In addition, the event was attended by directors of almost 20 farms.
The presentation was held personally by the Minister of Economy Tymofiy Mylovanov. He spoke about the achievements of the ministry and shared plans for the future. “We were allowed to hold this presentation at “Turboatom”, for which I want to thank the management of the plant. The choice of venue is very simple: I want to support only those enterprises where jobs are created, where high salaries are paid, where the economy is developing. If there is no industry in the vector that Turboatom demonstrates, and then our economy will not grow,” Mylovanov emphasized.
Director General of JSC “Turboatom” Viktor Subotin during his speech noted that it is a great honor for the plant’s staff to host the Ministry of Economy. “We have witnessed a historical event. It is an innovation in the practice of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Economy to report on the current situation in the country directly to the work collective. It is especially important for us that all this happens within the walls of “Turboatom”, an enterprise that has been 85 years old the basis of power engineering in Ukraine,” – said Victor Subbotin.
He also recalled that “Turboatom” annually increases production volumes, demonstrates high profitability and pays large taxes on profits and dividends to the country. “And we are proud of it,” added the General Director of “Turboatom”.
During the presentation, Mylovanov reported on the results of the work of the Ministry of Economy. Among the main victories, he noted the demonopolization of the alcohol market, the launch of a large privatization, the opening of the Geocadastre data and new markets. The minister also shared plans for the coming years. Among other things, the Ministry of Economy plans to create a Farm Credit Guarantee Fund, privatize 5 large and 300 small enterprises, create modern corporate governance in the top 10 state-owned companies, hold free trade negotiations with the UK, Canada, Macedonia, Serbia and so on.
After the presentation, Mylovanov introduced his deputies, who answered questions within their competence.
At the end of the event, Tymofiy Mylovanov and Viktor Subotin answered questions from journalists.
