About a thousand employees of “Turboatom” will receive partial unemployment assistance, in April the amount of payments will amount to 2 million UAH. This was announced by the General Director of the enterprise Viktor Subotin on May 24 at a meeting in the Kharkiv Regional State Administration (KhRSA) with the heads of industrial enterprises of the region and territorial administrations of the central authorities.
“Every day, 1,500 people work for us, and 1,000 employees work on schedule. This thousand people work on the schedule that allows them to provide material support under the law. We are closely monitoring this,” he said.
He also emphasized that “Turboatom” is not reducing production volumes, all contracts and delivery times are being fulfilled, which, in turn, will allow the company to fully comply with the annual financial plan.
As the chairman of KhRSAOleksiiKucher noted, “The President has repeatedly emphasized that we need to increase the number of jobs. Now, in quarantine, the main issue for us is to keep jobs at our enterprises.” According to him, at the regional level, consolidated work was carried out with the heads of the territorial departments of the central authorities. It will allow employees of enterprises operating on separate schedules to receive financial compensation.
“The employment center made a decision to support our enterprises,” said the head of the region.
According to the director of Kharkiv Regional Employment Center, VolodymyrMinenko, the first people in the region who will receive such compensation, in addition to “Turboatom”, are Kharkiv biscuit factory, KhCF “Kharkiv’anka”, “Velmash-Ukraine”(Dergachi) and “Ekipazh” (Pervomaisky district). “In Ukraine, we are practically the only ones who work in this area of activity. Assistance can be paid for a maximum period of 6 months; the maximum amount we can pay to these 5 enterprises is UAH 66 million. The employer will give lists for each month, how many people were in a state of partial unemployment and how much money we should transfer,” said VolodymyrMinenko.
The chairman of KhRSA thanked the leaders of the enterprises that are doing everything to save jobs. “We all understand that sooner or later this quarantine crisis will end, and we will need to move on, develop the Kharkiv industry. It is very important to keep the teams,” emphasized Oleksii Kucher.
