At the end of October 2020, the Kharkiv City Council hosted an award ceremony for the winners and laureates of the city contest “Young Man of the Year – 2020”, including an employee of JSC “Turboatom”.
30 young men and women became winners and laureates of the contest. Traditionally, 10 winners and 20 laureates were determined in each of the ten nominations of the contest. The turbine builder who participated in the contest also received his awards. Thus, Oleksandr Bardak, a 6-grade electric welder for manual welding of the hydro-turbine workshop of JSC “Turboatom”, became a laureate in the nomination “Activities in the field of production, entrepreneurship”.
The award ceremony was held by the first deputy of the Kharkiv mayor Igor Terekhov. He congratulated the audience on the victory. “You are a young elite, in whose hands the future of our city is located,” - said the first vice-mayor.
Igor Terekhov presented young people with awards, diplomas and Gratitude from the mayor. Also, the winners of the contest were awarded cash prizes.
The day before, JSC “Turboatom” hosted an award ceremony for employees of the enterprise following the results of the city contest “Young Man of the Year” in 2020 in the Nemyshlyansky region. The awards were presented by the Deputy General Director Dmytro Nesterenko with the participation of the chairman of the primary trade union organization “Turboatom” Mykola Turchyn and the chairman of the Youth Council Oleksandra Moroz.
In his address, Dmytro Nesterenko congratulated the winners and noted the contribution of young people to the development of the enterprise. “Thanks to your merits, “Turboatom” is known not only in Ukraine, but all over the world. I would like to wish you peace and health. Do not lose your dream, inspiration, always move only forward,” - he said.
Mykola Turchyn called those present the future of the plant. “You all deservedly won your awards. I sincerely congratulate you on this victory. You are an example for everyone else.”
“We are proud of our young workers,” - Oleksandra Moroz said in her turn. “We are grateful to you for your work and to your mentors for the high level of training.”
In the nomination “Activities in the field of production, entrepreneurship” the winner was the foreman of electric welders of manual welding workshop 83 Oleksander Bardak. He is a responsible worker and mentor who professionally performs welding of hydraulic turbine parts under ultrasonic control and color flaw detection. Also, a 4 grade locksmith of mechanical assembly works of workshop 73 Maksym Koren, with whose participation progressive processes of statistical and dynamic regulation of complex parts and assemblies, and a milling machine operator of workshop 54 Volodymyr Iliin, who mastered the complex technology of manufacturing assemblies and parts for turbines of various types.
In the nomination “Scientific activity” the winner was the head of the welding laboratory of the welding department Vitalii Shary. He is one of the developers of a new technology for complex ion-plasma hardening of surfaces of parts of steam distribution units for steam turbines, Laureate of the President of Ukraine Prize for Young Scientists in 2019.
It is worth reminding that the contest “Young Man of the Year” was held in ten nominations: “Students of institutions of general secondary education”, “Students of institutions of professional (vocational) education”, “Students of institutions of higher education of III levels of accreditation”, “Students (cadets) of institutions of higher education of III-IV levels of accreditation”, “Scientific activity”, “Culture and art”, “Physical culture and sports”, “Activities in the field of production, entrepreneurship”, “Activities in the non-production sphere” and “Social activities”. The age of the participants is from 14 to 35 years old.
The “Young Man of the Year” contest was founded in 2001. For 19 years of its existence, about 6.5 thousand people took part in it. The purpose of the contest is to support gifted and talented youth, their achievements in various spheres of scientific, industrial, social and cultural life.
