A Memorandum on cooperation and collaboration was signed between the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and JSC “Turboatom”

On December 8, 2020, the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine signed a Memorandum on cooperation and collaboration between the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Joint Stock Company “Turboatom”.

From the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the event was attended by the President of the NAS of Ukraine, Academician Anatoliy Zagorodny, Vice-President of the NAS of Ukraine, Academician Viacheslav Bogdanov, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Physical and Technical Problems of Energy of the NAS of Ukraine, Academician Oleksandr Kyrylenko, Director of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering Problems named after A. Pidgorny of the NAS of Ukraine, Corresponding Member Andriy Rusanov. JSC “Turboatom” was represented by General Director Viktor Subotin and General Designer Yevgen Levchenko.

The purpose of this Memorandum is to implement the provisions of the General Agreement concluded by the parties on scientific and technical cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Joint Stock Company “Turboatom” in the field of power turbine construction, which was signed two years ago by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Borys Paton and General Director of JSC “Turboatom” Viktor Subotin, as well as the creation of modern science intensive and competitive energy turbines. The Memorandum provides for joint activities, in particular, working meetings, deliberations, conferences to discuss issues within the framework of cooperation, as well as informing the public about the cooperation of the parties.

Assessing the cooperation of JSC “Turboatom” and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Anatoliy Zagorodny noted that JSC “Turboatom” has many years of experience in cooperation with scientific organizations of the Academy, in particular with the Institute of Mechanical Engineering Problems named after A. Pidgorny. He noted that power turbine construction is one of the most high-tech and science intensive branches of industry, and Ukraine has retained its scientific and technical potential of power turbine construction. He expressed hope that the signing of the Memorandum will contribute to a more active introduction of domestic scientific developments in the Ukrainian industry.

General Director of JSC “Turboatom” Viktor Subotin in his speech noted that the current success of the enterprise is the result of interaction with scientific organizations. He thanked the Academy for a long and fruitful cooperation.

Vice-President of the NAS of Ukraine Academician Viacheslav Bogdanov and Academician-Secretary of the Department of Physical and Technical Problems of Energy of the NAS of Ukraine Academician Oleksandr Kyrylenko noted the high world level of products manufactured by JSC “Turboatom”. And Corresponding Member Andriy Rusanov spoke about the achievements of the domestic power engineering industry, the experience and prospects of cooperation of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering Problems named after A. Pidgorny of the NAS of Ukraine and JSC “Turboatom”.
