Three turbine builders were awarded the 2020 Presidential Prize for Young Scientists

On March 1, 2021, a solemn ceremony of awarding the laureates of the Presidential Prize for Young Scientists of 2020 took place, including three employees of JSC “Turboatom”.

The event took place in the First State “Museum of Science” of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, which is located in Kyiv on the territory of the National Complex “Expocentre of Ukraine”.

Three employees of “Turboatom” received from the hands of the Chairman of the Committee on State Prizes of Ukraine in the field of science and technology, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Anatoly Zagorodny certificates and honorary badges. He thanked the young scientists for continuing to work in Ukraine and showed them his full support.

The ceremony, which this year became an anniversary, because it was held for the tenth time, was attended by the laureates of the high award, representatives of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Secretariat of the Committee for State Prizes of Ukraine in the field of science and technology, the chairman of the National Branch Academies of Sciences.

According to Mykhailo Ishchenko, one of the laureates of the Prize, this event is a real connection between science and industry. “The event took place at the Museum of Science of the JAS, which is the first state museum where it is forbidden NOT to touch the exhibits,” he said. "The visitor finds himself in a space where the most important scientific achievements of mankind, their laws and interaction are demonstrated in an understandable and accessible form.” “At the awards ceremony, the participants were shown audio exhibits about outstanding Ukrainians. An interesting fact is that the construction of one of the first hydroelectric power plants in Europe was headed by a Ukrainian engineer,” added Mykhailo Ishchenko at the end.

According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 595/2020 dated December 29, 2020, on the basis of the submission of the Committee for State Prizes of Ukraine in the field of science and technology for the work “Creation of rotor blades and diaphragms of the last stages of steam turbines”, the President of Ukraine Prize for young scientists in 2020 was awarded to:

Ishchenko Mykhailo Grygorievych - head of department - chief technologist of the Joint Stock Company “Turboatom”

Sherfedinov Riza Bakhtiiarovych - head of the design department of the SDB “Turboatom” of the Joint Stock Company “Turboatom”

Slastion Liubov Oleksandrivna - lead engineer of the central plant laboratory of the Joint Stock Company “Turboatom”.
