Work continues on equipment for Zaporizhzhya NPP

In May-June 2021, JSC “Turboatom” plans to complete the shipment of the condenser for power unit No. 5 of Zaporizhzhya NPP.

As of the beginning of May, the Kharkiv enterprise had already completely manufactured all modules and other components of the condenser for power unit No. 5 of ZNPP. Now the shipment of the casing No. 2 of the condenser modules is underway. Casing No. 3, consisting of 6 condenser modules, has been prepared for shipment, which will be carried out in early June this year.

It is worth reminding that earlier 6 modules of casing No. 1, condensate traps, covers and water chambers and other units were shipped to ZNPP.

Under the terms of the contract for Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, “Turboatom” will manufacture and supply a “block-modular” condenser with a stainless steel pipe system, which will replace the condenser with a copper-nickel alloy pipe system of the K-1000-60/1500-2 turbine with a capacity of 1000 MW. The new equipment will allow the turbine set to operate at its rated power when the temperature of the cooling water changes, increase power and extend the life of the power unit.
