People's Deputies visited JSC “Turboatom”

09.06.2021

On June 8, 2021, a delegation of People's Deputies paid a familiarization visit to the Joint Stock Company “Turboatom”.

The guests of the enterprise visited the casting and forgings workshop (50), steam turbine (53), hydro turbine (83) and assembly and test (73) workshops, as well as the museum of the plant's history.

During the visit Deputy Chairman of Committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Economic Development Dmytro Kysylevsky noted that the significant factors today are the work of “Turboatom” for export and the fact that the enterprise works on import substitution and is able to replace Russian equipment: “It is important for power and economic security of Ukraine”.

“I would like to say that “Turboatom” is remarkable enterprise of highly-accurate power engineering and production of products with high added value. The enterprise is modernizing, investing in equipment, training future personnel, and dual education is a positive example of how the enterprise provides itself with employees that is an enterprise working and developing. And the task of the state's economic industrial policy is to make these enterprises work. They are at the top of the technological chain – when they work, they pull others along with them, providing them with work. “Turboatom” is a carrier of technology and, in general, a technological leader, which is very important for the country. After all, when it owns the technology for the production of turbines for nuclear power, it means that the country is able to provide itself with this type of energy, and not be dependent on imports. Therefore, the goal of state policy should be to support such enterprises as “Turboatom”, – said Dmytro Kysylevsky.

Advisor to the Committee on Economic Development Igor Guzhva told about the legislative initiative of the Committee on Economic Development: “The idea of initiative is that when the state purchases goods and services a local content should be taken into account. The draft legislation “On localization” is intended to prevent precedents when Chinese manufacturers of such products defeat Ukrainian enterprises that have their own sales markets and production”.
