On November 17 in the TV program “Reflection” the book “Turboatom. Power, quality, reliability” of the publishing house “Rarities of Ukraine” was presented.

The publication of the book in the program release “Reflection” was presented by the General Designer of “Ukrenergymachines” JSC (formerly “Turboatom”) Yevgen Levchenko and the editor-in-chief of the publishing house “Rarities of Ukraine” Andrii Korniev.

The aim of the project “Rare Books of Ukraine” is to illuminate Ukrainian culture, referring to the historical and creative heritage of famous figures. The book in this series was created with the intention of showing architecture, events, and people. According to the editor of the publishing house Andrii Korniev, the series is dedicated to the outstanding architectural structures of Kharkiv. “Theaters, a philharmonic, some universities, however, the opinion constantly arose that the city is also famous for its industry, among which there are city-forming enterprises such as “Turboatom,” - Andrii Korniev said. He also noted that the first building of the plant is made in the style of constructivism, although it was built according to the project of an American corporation, it has its own characteristics: “Americans offered to do everything in metal structures, in particular the building frame," – the editor of the publishing house said, - “but the Kharkivites decided to replace the metal with reinforced concrete, having experience in using it in the construction of the Derzhprom. And in the result we have an industrial monument of constructivism.”

The book reflects the history of the creation of the enterprise, the main directions of its production and the people who help build the energy independence of Ukraine.

“This book helps us in our work, - Yevgen Levchenko said. - Firstly, the workers of the plant are proud that they are working and worked for it, that it is located in our hometown of Kharkiv. We are proud that we can represent Kharkiv and Ukraine on the international arena”. He added that the success of the plant is in the quality of its products. “Our products prevail over other samples, first of all, in terms of technical indicators, as well as at a price that allows “Ukrenergymachines” to win the world and Ukrainian tenders. Another component of success is a team that has creative power to produce advanced equipment for any energy needs”, - Yevgen Levchenko summed up.

Also, according to the General Designer of the enterprise, an important aspect is cooperation with science. “In various projects we interact with academic and educational institutions, including the A. M. Pidgorny Institute of Mechanical Engineering Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, with which we resolve issues of power and turbine equipment, Institute of Physics and Technology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, which helps us in matters of nuclear energy, NTU “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, Kharkiv National Aerospace University “KhAI”, etc.”, – Yevgen Levchenko noted.

The General Designer remembered various difficult times (the moratorium at nuclear power plants, the 90s), but the plant never stopped its work even in the most difficult periods of history. “Our plant has always moved forward, this is a significant character trait of turbine builders. And, first of all, it concerns the creation of new samples, work on which is constantly being carried out,” – he added. One of these innovations is the import substitution program supported by the Government of Ukraine. Here we should recall the development of titanium alloy blades for NPP turbines, which had never been produced in our country before. Thanks to the work of our engineers and scientists, we managed to achieve the desired result and in record time we mastered the manufacture of these blades. At the moment, they are successfully operating at 5 units of three nuclear power plants in Ukraine,” – said Yevgen Levchenko.
