At the end of September 2018, Kharkiv City Council awarded winners and laureate of city contest “Young Man of the Year – 2018”, among them there are two employees of JSC “Turboatom”
Winners and laureates of the contest were 30 young men and young women. Traditionally, 10 winners and 20 laureates were identified in each of ten nominations of the competition. Two turbine builders who took part in competition received their awards. Thus, Maxim Khizhko – lathe turner of the 5th grade of steam turbine workshop of JSC “Turboatom” - became winner in nomination “Activity in field of production, business”, and Ihor Palkov - Deputy Head of Design Department of Thermal and Strength Calculations of SDB “Turboatom” - recognized as the best in nomination “Scientific activity”.
Award ceremony was held by First Deputy Mayor of Kharkiv Igor Terekhov. He congratulated those present on victory. “You are future of Kharkiv, and how you love our city depends its development. I want to congratulate each of you with your victories and wish, first of all, not to stop there, to set new global goals and achieve them,” - Igor Terekhov said.
The First Vice-Mayor presented young people with awards, diplomas and Gratitude of Mayor. Also this year, for the first time, winners of competition were awarded with cash prizes.
Recall that contest “Young Man of the Year” was held in ten nominations: “Students of general educational institutions”, “Student (cadets) of higher educational institutions of III-IV accreditation levels”, “Student of higher educational institutions of I-II accreditation levels”, “Students of professional-technical education establishments”, “Scientific activity”, “Physical culture and sports”, “Culture and art”, “Activities in non-productive sphere”, “Public activity” and “Activity in the field of production, entrepreneurship”.
Competition is held within framework of implementation of city program “Youth of Kharkiv”. Its goal is to support gifted and talented youth, to encourage significant achievements of young professionals in productive, scientific and creative activities, as well as in various spheres of public life.
